Aviva Launches Tokenized Sterling Liquidity Fund Share Class on XRPL
The digital-twin share class represents holdings on XRPL while the underlying UCITS fund and custody structure remain offchain.

Aviva Investors launched a tokenized share class of its Sterling Liquidity Fund on October 26, supported by Ripple, Komainu and Licuido. Aviva says the underlying Ireland-domiciled UCITS money-market fund has about £22 billion in assets, while £50 million was invested in the new share class at launch. Eligible investors with digital wallets can access the share class, and Bank of New York Mellon remains custodian of the fund assets.
The structure is a digital twin, not a transfer of the fund portfolio onto a public ledger. Holdings are represented and managed on the XRP Ledger while the existing offchain fund, investment objective, risk profile, liquidity terms and regulatory protections remain in place. The launch follows Aviva's tokenized US-dollar liquidity-fund share class from July and extends the manager's experiment with onchain distribution rather than changing the underlying assets.
