CSD BR Begins Mirroring Securities Records on the XRP Ledger

The Brazilian depository will mirror BTG Pactual fund-share records on XRPL while its own regulated systems remain the official register and settlement source.

CSD BR and Ripple announced the first phase of a live-market project on September 29. CSD BR will mirror ownership records for BTG Pactual investment-fund shares on the public XRP Ledger using its Multi-Purpose Token standard. The depository’s regulated systems—not the blockchain copy—remain the official source for registration, custody and settlement.

That boundary matters. The ledger adds a complementary audit and query layer for authorized Brazilian corporate and banking participants; it does not replace the central depository or remove its governance powers. CSD BR retains control over issuance and administration, including authorization, freezing and court-ordered reversals. The first phase tests transparency and near-real-time consistency under existing rules, so it is live operational experimentation rather than a wholesale transfer of securities infrastructure to a public chain.
