Grass Launches Contents API for Live Web Retrieval

Grass says its new API converts public URLs into model-ready HTML, Markdown or text, with JavaScript rendering, freshness controls and geo-targeting.

Grass launched the Contents API on October 8. The company says the service turns a public URL into cleaned HTML, Markdown or text for agent workflows, with JavaScript rendering, freshness controls, geo-targeted requests and automatic removal of unnecessary page elements. Access currently requires registration and review rather than being an unrestricted public endpoint.

Grass also published a 100-destination benchmark that it says was run on October 1 with forced-fresh requests and caching disabled where providers exposed that control. The reported retrieval and latency results are vendor-run measurements, not an independent audit. The investment significance therefore rests on whether customers adopt the service and whether its access, accuracy, cost and policy controls remain reliable in production—not on the launch benchmark alone.
