Injective Replaces Its 2018 Whitepaper
Injective’s new paper documents its live finance-native Layer 1, including shared EVM/WASM state, protocol financial modules and deterministic finality.

Injective released a new whitepaper on October 7 that supersedes its December 2018 paper. The document describes the mainnet state as of October 1: a sovereign proof-of-stake Layer 1 with a protocol-native orderbook, oracle integration, derivative insurance funds, asset permissions and recurring buybacks. It also documents EVM and WASM execution against one canonical state rather than separate settlement domains.
The paper formalizes existing architecture, including frequent batch auctions and Byzantine-fault-tolerant deterministic finality; it is not evidence of a new deployment or higher usage by itself. Its investment relevance is a clearer technical baseline for testing how shared liquidity, risk controls and MultiVM assets behave. Adoption, governance changes, market depth and operating reliability still require separate observation.
