Lighter Adds weETH as Collateral for Perpetual Trading

The live integration lets traders support perpetual positions with ether.fi's yield-bearing wrapped Ether token.

Lighter added ether.fi's wrapped eETH, or weETH, as collateral for perpetual trading on October 23. The exchange's live interface identifies weETH as an available collateral asset, while ether.fi's announcement directs users to the venue's collateral details. This extends the token's use from staking and lending into margin support for derivatives positions.

Using a yield-bearing token as trading collateral does not remove market or liquidation risk. The integration establishes product availability, but collateral limits, risk parameters and eligible jurisdictions remain venue-specific and can change. It should therefore be read as a new collateral route, not as a guarantee of leverage, liquidity or returns.
