Midnight Opens Mainnet Contract Deployment

Developers can now deploy contracts directly to Midnight mainnet without a required Preprod security review, while Preprod testing remains recommended.

Midnight said permissionless smart-contract deployment is live on its mainnet. Developers no longer need a security review on the Preprod environment before deploying, and applications can programmatically deploy contracts for end users. The change removes a deployment gate; it does not by itself show that any particular application has launched or been audited.

The network still recommends testing application logic on Preprod before production deployment. Midnight describes this as a planned growth stage and says later milestones will expand protocol capabilities and decentralization. Those later steps remain roadmap items, not completed features.
