Confidential agent payments still need a visible allowance

Historical analysis of x402-style service payments separates private content from authority to spend.

For x402-style service payments, permission to buy a service is separate from whether the transaction content is private. An agent purchasing a narrow service needs an allowance whose purpose and limits its owner can understand, pause and revoke. Hiding transaction content should not make settlement order, collateral boundaries or failure states unknowable to the responsible operator. Removing a separate gas step can simplify a payment, but it does not resolve who authorized the underlying purchase. These distinctions matter before combining private execution and automated spending in one interface.
