Midnight’s bridge account draws a boundary around the protected core

Bridge custody, confidential execution and post-quantum key migration remain separate responsibilities.

A closed black gate separates an empty gravel approach from a walled green garden.

Midnight’s account locates the NIGHT incident at the Wanchain Cardano–BNB bridge and distinguishes that route from its core protocol. It reports 1.5 billion NIGHT already redeemed. The redemption figure describes completed activity, rather than resolving every remaining bridge liability. Identifying the external custodian and canonical network is essential when a protected protocol and a connected route have different failure boundaries.

The privacy roundup also describes COTI’s Nightfall enterprise-privacy testnet for Ethereum, Zcash’s planned July 28 Ironwood activation, Arcium’s 1.5 million encrypted computations in six weeks and NEAR command-line migration to ML-DSA keys. Testnet access, an activation plan, completed computation and credential migration are different stages of work. Public network identity and recovery procedures can remain inspectable while transaction content stays confidential.
