Midnight Separates NIGHT Holdings from DUST Consumption

The resource model separates holdings from transaction fuel.

Midnight describes a model in which users do not spend NIGHT directly to transact: NIGHT generates DUST, the renewable resource consumed by network activity. This separates the token holding from routine transaction consumption, but it does not make transactions resource-free or guarantee returns to holders. Evaluating the model requires understanding how available DUST constrains activity, rather than treating token ownership and spending capacity as the same balance.

The accompanying privacy argument is equally specific. Privacy is described as choosing who sees an account, a message or a transaction, not hiding every action from everyone. Banking and personal communication already use selective visibility. A blockchain route becomes useful when the operator can state which boundary applies, who may cross it and what record remains afterward.
