Moth's interfaces and payment tests expose practical questions that a hackathon count cannot answer.
The MLHacks and Midnight event reportedly brought 84 teams into a 48-hour build and selected seven projects across dark-pool trading, anonymous communities, private AI agents and games. Midnight's Moth developer wallet offered extension, CLI, TUI and daemon interfaces, with separate private, public and DUST states. These are specific tooling and prototype developments, not a count of production users.
Midnight's updates also covered security work with CertiK, a forthcoming AKINDO Buildathon and a hands-on event attended by more than 60 developers. Separately, Polygon-related payment tests at Lawson covered USDC, USDT and JPYC. Developer participation and checkout testing address different bottlenecks: making software buildable and making transactions usable.
A privacy wallet's multiple states must remain understandable when a person approves or recovers a transaction. Gas sponsorship is a separate usability mechanism: a relayer can pay the execution cost while the user still signs the intended action. Lower entry friction and sound authorization are complementary properties.
