Shielded Wallet Work Adds a Long-Term Recovery Question

The Midnight-linked updates described sending, receiving and inspecting the history of shielded and unshielded assets through familiar EVM wallet interfaces. Alongside that work, private computation was discussed in relation to future quantum threats. Wallet usability and resistance to a changing threat model are different development problems; progress in one does not establish the other.

Useful confidentiality lets the holder understand and authorize an action without exposing unrelated balances to public observers. Its longer-term value also depends on whether keys and algorithms can change without losing access to transaction history. Records that must remain private for years have a different protection horizon from short-lived information. A familiar login can simplify access, while transfer authorization and key migration require separate controls.
