Chainlink's integration count and NEAR-linked swap privacy illustrate separate layers of automated settlement.
Chainlink reported twelve integrations across five services and ten chains. The accompanying NEAR-linked material highlighted how a public swap can expose amount, timing, direction and the wallet involved. Connectivity expands the systems an application can reach; confidential execution changes which details observers can see. Neither property by itself establishes authority to move someone else's assets.
The distinction becomes concrete when machine work is paid: a request, authorization, completion evidence and payment are separate events. A private quote protects commercial terms, while acceptance of the work establishes a different condition. Matching completion records to the specific authorization and payment makes each stage accountable and helps prevent duplicate settlement.
