Polygon Labs said on September 24 that a 25-hub test of its agent pay channels processed more than 11 million verified payment updates per second. A payer funds a channel on Polygon, then an agent sends cumulative signed vouchers as it consumes a service. Hubs verify authorization and balances, while aggregated state is later committed onchain.
The headline is not Polygon base-layer transaction throughput. The 11-million result covers offchain payment updates across 25 independently scaling hubs; onchain settlement occurs in batches. Polygon also reports a full x402 flow test against a stand-in inference provider, so the benchmark demonstrates the payment path under stated test conditions, not production demand or universal application performance.
