Ripple says the Korean regional bank now offers business customers near-real-time cross-border settlement.
Ripple announced on August 18 that Jeonbuk Bank became the first regional bank in South Korea to deploy Ripple Payments for cross-border remittances. The company said the service replaces transfers that could take days with settlement in seconds to minutes, operates around the clock, and is available to business customers including import-export firms, technology startups and online creators.
The announcement describes an operating deployment, not merely an exploration. Its speed, cost and customer-scope claims are Ripple’s and Jeonbuk Bank’s; the release does not provide independent transaction volumes or performance measurements. Ripple placed the rollout alongside separate 2026 Korean work with Kyobo Life and Kbank, but those projects concern bond settlement and custody infrastructure rather than this payment service.
