The allowlist warm-up had been running for a while, and the studio was guiding interest in Iron Pigeons toward the formal preparations. Existing Discord members knew the background; newcomers needed to understand eligibility and what would happen next from the beginning.
After the first allowlist round was announced, two thousand newcomers poured into Discord, and their questions quickly pushed older discussions out of view. The Night Watchman noticed that some people were conflating a contest prize place with this round's list. He urged them to distinguish announced results from their own guesses, while the studio faced the same questions being asked repeatedly.
Publishing the list shifted the warm-up from waiting for results to explaining them, making the community's communication burden concrete. The Night Watchman planned to collect common questions for people familiar with the details to check, then help newcomers find what was known. Those left off the list still needed the studio to explain what they could expect next.
