Nitro Offers a Lead, Not a Chain Decision

As August ended, the studio was cutting costs while working through the technical questions left by its debate over building a chain. A-Zhen had just finished comparing Rollup options and wanted a real case against which to test the table's assumptions.

BTC closed the month near USD 20,000, down about 14% for August. On the same day, Arbitrum completed its Nitro upgrade on mainnet, increasing throughput and lowering fees. A-Zhen forwarded the announcement internally with just four Chinese characters: “The way is over here.” When a colleague asked whether the studio would adopt that route, she explained that the upgrade showed a technical possibility worth examining, not a decision already made.

Until then, the Rollup table had mainly compared proposed approaches. The completed Nitro upgrade gave A-Zhen a concrete reference for checking further questions. Market and budget pressure remained, and the studio had not launched a new chain. Her next step was to compare the announced changes with the game's requirements one by one; their suitability still needed to be established.
