Background: The pre-announcement freeze was in its first week. In the office, people had grown used to asking whether the demonstration and release were steady before talking about celebration. A-Zhen watched engineering changes and had to remind colleagues that a quiet spell was not permission to change things freely.
Today: On Bitcoin Pizza Day, the office ordered pizza. Someone raised a slice and suggested a toast to the occasion, but talk soon turned to the first week of the freeze having gone smoothly. With everyone together, A-Zhen proposed recording newly imagined improvements for a later discussion and handling only issues that could affect announcement preparations now.
Impact and next steps: The meal gave the tense team a short breather and clarified its priorities: the calm was worth celebrating, and the freeze still needed to hold. Afterward, everyone returned to their part of the work. They still had to see whether the demonstration, wording, and answers to questions would fit together when the announcement went public.
