Final Form was moving toward Arbitrum, its open beta had yet to arrive, and card staking continued. A newcomer entered the group amid overlapping talk of the chain, the game, and tasks, unsure what anyone was supposed to do now.

The newcomer asked three questions in succession: Was the chain live? Was there a game? What exactly were they doing? The Night Watchman explained that everyone was still waiting for the open beta, then answered the last question: once that version launched, card staking would end. After that, the only way to earn Chromos would be to play with one's own deck.

His answer separated the current staking period from the coming period of play and showed the newcomer that the present choice had a deadline. The newcomer decided to learn how to use the cards already in hand instead of following every guess in the group. When testing would open, and how earning Chromos in play would feel, remained to be seen.
