A creative chronicle combining project history with imagined scenes. Story events are not verification of network activity.
Background: Raijin’s August operations report went online on Sunday as scheduled. The Night Watchman did not write the report, but his Sentry node had observed on-chain settlements all month. While the community discussed sharing the burden of the lawsuit, he cared whether an ordinary operator could check the published figures.
Today: The report showed a slight increase in total settlements from the previous month. The Night Watchman compared its on-chain settlement figure with his node’s observations for the whole month, item by item, before replying in the group with one word: “Correct.” Asked whether that meant the game would stay busy, he declined to promise more than he had checked: one figure for one month.
Impact and next steps: The report now had an independent check from a node operator, and the group’s discussion moved toward which figure to examine. The Night Watchman planned to spell out the scope of his comparison so others could inspect next month’s data on the same basis. Whether players would keep returning remained a question for later activity.
