Players were collecting Final Form cards while calculating the Chromos needed for evolution. Public beta was expected in December, but the current way to obtain Chromos and the rule planned for after beta began were often discussed as though they were the same. The team needed to mark the boundary.
The team explained that players could currently extract Chromos by staking cards. After public beta began, Chromos would be obtainable only by winning battles. Someone heard the implication that it would no longer be this easy and asked whether to stake the cards they held immediately. The chat had no answer that suited everyone: the value of keeping a card depended on how each person intended to play.
The two paths to Chromos were now distinct, prompting players to weigh today’s extraction against the future need to win matches. Those still undecided needed to understand what staking and keeping their cards would each allow them to do. How battles would actually feel in public beta remained unknown.
