Odyssey Moves From Tasks to First Contract Deployments

The first two stages of Odyssey had familiarized participants with tasks and rankings. The third stage of Odyssey opened with tasks to claim an NFT and deploy a personal NFT contract on the testnet. Participation was moving from completing platform tasks to creating a testnet contract, giving people something to do beyond collecting leaderboard points.

The first two stages of Odyssey had familiarized participants with tasks and rankings. Stage three brought them to a less familiar action. Many knew how to claim an NFT but had never deployed a contract; even if the buttons looked simple, they first needed to understand what they were doing on the testnet.

The third stage of Odyssey opened with tasks to claim an NFT and deploy a personal NFT contract on the testnet. The official team said it could be done in a few clicks with Thirdweb. For most participants, this would be their first time deploying a contract themselves. Some wondered whether the steps would be easy to follow; others wanted to know how to confirm the result after deployment.

Participation was moving from completing platform tasks to creating a testnet contract, giving people something to do beyond collecting leaderboard points. Their next step was to follow the instructions, try the deployment, and check the result. The official team needed to make each step legible to first-time deployers. Whether the process was as easy as advertised would depend on their experience.
