Xai proposed replacing a fixed per-challenge esXAI allocation with an allocation based on seconds since the previous challenge. Feedback immediately raised an eligibility question: what happens to a node that is offline during a missed challenge but returns just before the next one? That is separate from calculating the total reward pool. A time-weighted emission formula can smooth the amount issued without, by itself, measuring each operator's availability throughout the gap.
