The Night Watchman, a longtime Sentry node operator, was also preparing his community bulletin. The scoring rules were what people most wanted to understand that day.
The second-phase tiers were announced: points from both phases would be added together, but the second phase carried more weight, reshuffling the rankings. Starting on day 30, a daily mint would be worth 150 points. Some participants began considering whether to change their pace. In the body of his 600th bulletin, the Night Watchman wrote only: “As usual.”

The Night Watchman’s brief message gave fellow operators a steady rhythm, but it could not decide where their time was best spent. Each person still had to work through the new tiers.
