New Year’s Eve Gives the Night Watchman Room to Step Away

Lunar New Year’s Eve arrived, and many people in the Chinese-language group set aside the recent arguments over price, airdrops and games. The Night Watchman still needed to keep an eye on his node, but he also wanted an uninterrupted stretch of the holiday.
Group members exchanged New Year greetings; no one posted a token price. The Night Watchman first thought he would use the quiet to read every message. Then he noticed holiday greetings constantly pushing new notifications onto his screen. He decided to check the node only at set times, leave ordinary chat until after dinner, and give his family a meal without screen interruptions.
The day did not move the community forward through debate. Instead, it made the Night Watchman see how he had treated being online as a duty to answer at once. After the holiday, he planned to discuss with familiar operators which messages needed immediate attention and which could wait. Keeping that boundary on ordinary days would still take practice.
