An emissions schedule meets a keyholder's reckoning

After yesterday's call to compensate keyholders, today's discussion turned to Sentry staking itself. Someone asked when Sentry staking emissions would end. The technical answer explained how emissions decline, but it did not answer the keyholder's question about returns.

After yesterday's call to compensate keyholders, today's discussion turned to Sentry staking itself. As a node operator, the Night Watchman could follow the emissions rules, but he also understood the other question: what had a long commitment actually returned?

Someone asked when Sentry staking emissions would end. The official reply explained that daily emissions begin to fall when total supply approaches half of maximum supply; thereafter, each increase equal to half of the previous threshold brings another reduction. The detailed table was in the documentation. That same day, a keyholder counted the cost of two years: none of the airdrops once said to be tied to the ecosystem had reached them, and they could not recover the money they had put in.

The technical answer explained how emissions decline, but it did not answer the keyholder's question about returns. The Night Watchman planned to discuss the rules table separately from personal experience, so that an expectation would not be mistaken for a realized benefit. The keyholder was still waiting for a specific answer about the missing airdrops.
