Back to collectionA Lone Node Report in a Quiet Group
The buyback wallet had shown no movement yesterday, and the Night Watchman had begun recording wallet activity separately from node operation. A creative chronicle combining project history with imagined scenes. Story events are not verification of network activity.
The buyback wallet had shown no movement yesterday, and the Night Watchman had begun recording wallet activity separately from node operation. Today the group grew quieter still; nearly the only messages were his reports that his node was online. He wondered whether repeating them was helping anyone.
The buyback wallet remained unchanged, and he reported that his node was online as usual. Seeing his own messages take up the screen, he set a small rule for himself: when operations were normal, he would report only the essential status. If anyone asked about the buyback, he would say plainly that the wallet had not moved, instead of letting silence invite guesses.
The group did not become livelier, but the Night Watchman stopped treating a lack of replies as a reason to lengthen his reports. He would keep watch and leave room for actual questions. Whether anyone else wanted to ask one was impossible to tell for now.
