Xai Publishes a Four-Hour Validator Outage Postmortem
A validator outage interrupted challenge creation for roughly four hours while the chain continued processing transactions.

Xai's September 20 postmortem attributed a four-hour gap in Sentry challenges to a validator outage. Transaction processing continued, but challenge timing depended on rollup blocks being created and accepted, so reward opportunities paused and several challenges arrived close together after recovery.
The planned remediation would calculate rewards from elapsed time and impose a minimum interval between challenges. Xai reported the change as audited and in testing; the design aimed to account for time during a pause and spread challenges out after recovery.
