Another xAI Appears, and a Name Becomes a Question

It had been less than a month since Xai announced its gaming chain. The team was discussing its node model, while the community waited for Final Form and further network plans. Records documented commercial use of the XAI trademark beginning in June. No one expected another name that sounded almost the same to appear that day.

That afternoon, Musk announced the creation of the artificial intelligence company xAI in a post that drew more than 59 million views; technology media around the world followed up overnight. Someone posted a screenshot in the community chat and asked, “Wait, aren’t we called Xai?” It was the first time the community openly asked what a name collision might mean. The argument lasted well into the evening. Some saw unexpected attention and hoped searches for xai might also surface the gaming project; others worried about sharing a name with the world’s richest man. Most settled, for the moment, on the idea that one company worked on artificial intelligence and the other on games, so each could follow its own path.
