A Lower Subtitle Position Reveals a New Margin Problem
Background: The author, XAI’s founder, is organizing interview material for gaming media. Today: He moved the subtitles close to the lower edge and asked a test reader to watch the same sequence continuously. Impact and follow-up: The test produced a concrete trade-off: keep the lower position while leaving enough margin for two-line subtitles.

Background: The author, XAI’s founder, is organizing interview material for gaming media. When test readers previously tried Final Form subtitles shifted upward, the text avoided the character but they had missed the action by the time they finished reading. A position near the bottom edge had not yet been tested.
Today: He moved the subtitles close to the lower edge and asked a test reader to watch the same sequence continuously. This time the reader finished the text while the character’s action was still continuing. With a two-line subtitle, however, the final line sat too close to the edge. The author kept this version and marked the place beside the two lines that still needed adjustment.
Impact and follow-up: The test produced a concrete trade-off: keep the lower position while leaving enough margin for two-line subtitles. It also made the interview question more specific. Whether the adjustment works in other scenes still requires tests with longer subtitles; this single sequence cannot be presented as a completed solution.
