Terms Move to Legal Review as Community Levels Reset

The team was advancing a partnership arrangement that had not yet been announced while also revising community levels. Members had already built up experience under the old system. A change in rewards would raise questions about that effort, while newcomers needed a path to advancement they could understand and follow.

The main substance of the partnership terms was agreed, with the remaining details moving through legal review. Community rules, meanwhile, were rebuilt from scratch: all previously accumulated level experience was reset, and the level milestones were reordered as 5, 10, 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100. A card would be awarded for each five-level increase according to the applicable range: common at levels 0–25, rare at 26–50, epic at 51–75, and legendary at 76–100. There was only one way to level up: contribute to the conversation without spamming.

On the partnership side, agreeing on the main terms left legal details before anything could be finalized. In the community, the reset could frustrate people who had spent time earning experience. The rules could also be mistaken for a reward for posting enough messages. Moderators now needed to explain how the ranges applied and distinguish meaningful discussion from spam when putting the system into practice.
