A Steam launch meets an uncertain snapshot

The previous night's announcement put a deadline of before June 30 on the Xai Vanguard: Genesis airdrop, but said the snapshot time would come later. With a game about to launch, people in the group who had been waiting for a date began asking what it meant to prepare in advance.

Today The Lost Glitches launched on Steam. Its release message acknowledged four and a half years of late-night work. The game was free, and players could enter a redemption code in its in-game shop to receive a launch bundle; it reached the popular new releases chart that day. Yet the Chinese-language group's argument centered on a condition in the announcement: register on Raijin with a Steam account and earn at least one Steam achievement. Most had thought they only needed to meet the condition when claiming, but now understood they had to do it before a snapshot whose date was unknown. Some called it a last-minute hurdle; others worried that an achievement might go to waste if its game was removed. One member opened a support ticket and received a definite answer: without a linked account and an achievement before the snapshot, a person would not qualify to claim. The price hovered weakly around $0.060.

The launch gave players a game they could enter, while the airdrop condition made people awaiting rewards reorder their plans. The narrator noted that one extra prerequisite could exclude some of those who had waited longest. A-Zhen planned to explain the order of account linking and achievements more clearly. The snapshot date, and how achievements would be treated if a game was removed, still needed an official answer.
