Otherside outlines a resource economy before the usage evidence

Otherside described its world on September 9 as a token economy with 74 onchain resources, $APE as the only route into and out of that economy, and Kodas, Voyagers and Otherdeed environments at its center. This is the project’s design statement, not a count of resources actively produced, exchanged or consumed. A catalog can create options for play; durable demand requires repeat activity and credible rules for creation, scarcity and transfer.
On the same date, mfigge showed early looks at an economy and deed-management dashboard and said systems were in development. An early view demonstrates interface direction but does not prove completed deployment, daily users or secure settlement. The deed element matters because land-like claims need clear permissions: who can build, transfer, lease or revoke rights, and which actions survive account recovery. Interface polish alone cannot answer those questions.
Adam Weitsman posted on September 11 that a new HV_MTL and apechurch game was coming, with details to follow. The announcement does not provide a release date, player count, budget, purchase terms or evidence of how the game will use the 74-resource system. It should be read as a teaser from its author, not as realized player demand or a confirmed revenue stream for Otherside.
The $APE entry-and-exit rule could simplify accounting by concentrating settlement in one unit. It could also make resource prices sensitive to token liquidity, fees and policy changes beyond each game’s play value. Investors should separate in-world exchange from external cash flow and avoid treating gross token turnover as net spending. A useful economic record would show unique active participants, resource issuance and sinks, market depth and how deed rights are enforced.
