Game Requirements Enter the Chain Design

The chain team could now check basic flows on a local development network, but the game team cared about what players would encounter when they entered a game. A-Zhen and her colleagues needed to turn those experience concerns into design requirements they could discuss.

The game team added three requirements to the chain design: gasless play, wallet abstraction and large contracts. Someone worried that the terms looked simple on paper while carrying different costs in different game actions. A-Zhen asked the game team to describe where a player might get stuck, so the engineers could assess an implementation path for each case instead of promising one universal solution.

The design moved a step from “the chain runs” toward “players can use it smoothly,” but written requirements were not yet working features. Next, the two teams would check boundaries and tradeoffs against specific game flows, especially who would cover fees, how wallet steps could be hidden and what limits large contracts might face.
